The 4th AVAS Scientific Meeting 2025: Internationally Recognized Research Achievements and Future Prospects

The last part of the report on the experience of participating in an overseas academic conferenceResults of our activitiesWe are pleased to introduce you to the following

Research by myself, an organizer of J-IVCARES, Dr. Hideto Yasuda, Dr. Masahiro Kashiwaura, our medical staff, and the AMOR-VENUS study team, "Impact of different peripheral venous catheter materials on the incidence of phlebitis in intensive care units: a post-hoc analysis of the AMOR-VENUS studyThe "TheReceived Best Poster AwardI did.

In a comparison of the incidence of phlebitis in 3,429 peripheral venous catheters in ICU patients by material, we were able to demonstrate that the incidence of phlebitis varies by product, even for the same polyurethane formulation. This difference may be due to the hardness of the material, indicating the importance of material selection.

Since the other posters were also very important, we said to each other, "We would be very happy if we could win an award," and we are very honored that we really did.

Future aspirations

At the AVAS Scientific Meeting 2025, we learned about research trends and education in the world, and issues in Japan (such as the underdevelopment of research and education areas) were also highlighted. At the same time, the fact that our research won the Best Poster Award made us realize that we have a research perspective that is as good as any in the world. If we, J-IVCARES, can achieve what we are aiming for and disseminate it in a stable manner, we can become a Japanese organization like AVATAR and other major catheter organizations in other countries.I felt that this was the case.

We will continue to work on the establishment and standardization of systematic catheter management education programs, the accumulation of knowledge through active participation in international joint research, the continuous dissemination of research results and their return to clinical practice, and the improvement of Japan's research level and international presence in the vascular access field, and above all, to raise the level of catheter management in Japan as a whole. We will continue to make every effort to improve the level of research and international presence in the field of vascular access in Japan, and above all, to raise the level of catheter management in Japan as a whole.
